Wild Animals About the Owner Dakota Wild Animals opened for business in 2003. Since that time, the owner, John Carlson has performed over 600 shows for different groups including: libraries, schools, daycares, city festivals, scout troops and packs, business events and birthday parties. Size of groups presented to range from five to 500. John Carlson worked for both the Lakeville and Edina Police Departments for over 10 years as an Animal Control Officer, Bicycle Safety Coordinator, and Community Services Supervisor. He was certified with the Minnesota Animal Control Association. He has extensive experience and training in all aspects of animal safety and handling and many years of life experience around cats, dogs, reptiles, mammals and wildlife. John enjoys working with groups of all ages and sharing the many interesting and unique facets of these amazing creatures.
